How does Sumatriptan work?
Sumatriptan belongs to a family of medicines called triptans or serotonin agonists. Sumatriptan takes action on serotonin or 5HT receptors located on the blood vessels in the brain. When working on these receptors they narrow which can help to ease symptoms of a migraine.
