What is Salbutamol?
Salbutamol is in the class of drugs called bronchodilators. The prefix ‘broncho’ refers to the bronchi within the lungs. Whereas the suffix ‘dilators’ refers to the action of dilating and expanding to improve airflow by relaxing the muscles in the airways. Salbutamol is a fast onset but short-acting medication taking effect in less than 5 minutes and having a beneficial effect for up to 5 hours. It’s particularly effective in reducing symptoms such as coughing, wheezing and breathlessness
Salbutamol is often prescribed to people for relief and prevention of asthma symptoms. The medication should be used to relieve early onset symptoms as they occur, and to prevent an asthma attack
What Dosage is right for me?

If you require more you are recommended to speak to your GP or NHS Helpline immediately. If you use your inhaler too much, you may notice that your heart beats more quickly than normal and that you feel shaky. These side effects are not dangerous, as long as you do not also have chest pain. They usually go away within 30 minutes or a few hours at most.
