What is Finasteride?
Finasteride is classified as a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. These work by blocking the action of the enzyme 5-alpha reductase. The role of this enzyme is to convert testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is an androgen involved in prostate growth and male pattern baldness. The mechanism of action of finasteride means that DHT levels remain low and prevent further hair loss. In addition, finasteride can be used as a treatment method for benign prostate hyperplasia.
How do I know if the dosage is right for me?
